The system
Virtual Move Studio is equipped by a VICON optical motion capture system with 16 cameras. It allows capturing the movements of several actors simultaneously.
All is insalled in a 200 m2 room with 6.5 metres under the roof top, allowing to wire actors when needed.
The technic
A network of 16 cameras is installed and calibrated, allowing the creation of a capture volume.
The markers made from a highly reflective material, are placed on the subject, while the cameras themselves project an infra-red light onto the markers that make them light up.
The 2D images that are obtained on each camera allow the calculation of the 3D position (x,y,z) of each marker (triangulation). The result of the movements studied is a precise and robust image of the movements studied.
